We’ve proudly called the Black Horse our home since 2015, when we took on the role of landlords - but our connection to this special place began a few years earlier, in 2011, working behind the bar. It’s where we first met, and where our story truly began.
Since then, life has grown wonderfully full. We’ve married, started a family, and poured our shared love of hospitality into shaping a space that feels warm, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming to all who visit.
When we do step away, you’ll most often find us walking in the countryside, travelling, or enjoying precious time with our two children, Autumn and Grayson, and our three dogs.
Grassington has always felt like home to us - and it’s that same sense of comfort and belonging that we hope every guest experiences from the moment they walk through our door.
Originally from Poland, has spent over 20 years working in hospitality. Since taking the reins as General Manager in 2020, she’s been making sure every guest experience is as warm and memorable.
Whether she’s welcoming guests, supporting her team, or fine-tuning the little details that make a stay special, she does it all with a smile.
When she’s not keeping the hotel running like clockwork, Agi can be found getting involved in community initiatives - always up for a challenge, especially if it supports a good cause.

With a passion for hearty, feel-good food and a keen eye for quality ingredients, Gav ensures every plate is packed with flavour and warmth.

Originally from Colne. He's been a chef for almost 20 years. At the age of 19 he moved to Kettlwell and now he lives in the village.In his spare time he is usually socialising with friends, playing games or watching movies - usually Sci-fi, fantasy or Marvel.
Life and soul of the Front of House Team, lives in Skipton, which is only a few miles down the road (you will often find him cycling or running back home!)
As Front of House Manager, he’s at the heart of the action - welcoming guests, setting the tone, and making sure every visit feels relaxed, lively, and memorable.
With a strong background in hospitality, Fred brings both experience and personality to the role. He’s known for creating a warm, upbeat atmosphere where everyone feels at home.
Behind the scenes, our Head Housekeeper Ruth is the guardian of comfort at the Black Horse. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for perfection, they ensure every room is spotless, cosy, and ready to welcome you after a day exploring the Dales.
She's been our Head Housekeeper for what feels like for ever! Originally from Heanley-on-Thames, she grew up in South Africa and came to the Dales in 2010.
She loves traveling, socialising and copious amounts of Campari.
