The Restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience using fresh local produce in the preparation of a broad selection of traditional English fayre, along with a good selection of fish or vegetarian dishes.
There is always a warm welcome at the Black Horse Bar - with our real log fire, a wide range of traditional Ales, Beers and lagers, a good Wine & Whisky List and a Bar Menu offering a wide choice from a snack to a hearty meal.
The Black Horse Hotel
Historic 17th Century Coaching Inn
The Black Horse dates from circa 1650 and a portrait of one of the huntin' shootin' fishin' landlords, Fresh-air Stubbs hangs in the National Gallery.
Extended in 1990, it now boasts 15 en-suite rooms, with up to 100 diners dining in both bar & restaurant, and five lovingly chosen and kept traditional beers.
Originally commemorating the arrival of spring, May Day is a holiday with much merry-making. Join our local school children as they dance around the Maypole in the square ~ the end results could be either a beautiful plaited kaleidoscope of ribbons around the pole or a tangled tower of ragged ribbons, all depending on exactly how much rehearsing has been done!
Grassington Festival brings a range of fabulous acts to the beautiful Dales village for 15 days in June.
Featuring live music, dance, theatre, comedy, film, visual art displays, master classes, workshops and family events, there is something for everyone.
The 3rd weekend in September Grassington holds its 1940’s weekend, with beautiful vintage cars, battle reenactments, and on Saturday and Sunday take a stroll around our village and cobbled streets and be transported back to the post-war era of Swing, Big Band and Jazz.
During the first three Saturdays in December, Grassington is transported back to the time of Charles Dickens.
See the Christmas lights, the village square and the streets transformed into a traditional market town.
The staff at the Black Horse Hotel join in the spirit of the festival; dressing in costumes from this period and offering special menus, comfortable accommodation and a selection of the finest hand pulled ales, mulled wine and our usual extensive bar tariff.
